Treatment designed just for you to achieve an exceptional outcome, not just an acceptable
one. That’s the philosophy that motivated CEO Greg Steil when he founded ATI in
1996 and it remains at the core of everything that ATI does today.
An exercise physiologist who holds a three-time world record in power lifting and
an outstanding collegiate football player, Greg established ATI with a focus on
functional capacity evaluations and work conditioning/hardening for workers' compensation
patients. After opening his first clinic in Willowbrook, Illinois, Greg quickly
realized there was an opportunity to provide a new and unmatched level of service
to injured workers in the Chicagoland area. He developed the trademarked F.I.R.S.T. ™ (Functional Integration of Rehabilitation and
Strength Training) program based on extensive research and input from orthopedic
surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, and bio-mechanists.
The F.I.R.S.T program has gained international recognition for its success.
Dylan Bates, a licensed physical therapist, who now is the Company’s Chief Operating
Officer, joined the practice in 1999 to expand physical therapy services. Dylan
participated in collegiate athletics and shared Greg’s vision for aggressive rehabilitation
through strength training and conditioning. This fueled the development of treatment
protocols utilizing progressive and cutting-edge techniques.
With a winning combination of exceptional care, incredible people, and a commitment
to be the bright spot in the day of every single patient, ATI Physical Therapy quickly
began to expand:
