Job Conditioning for Injury Prevention
Protect your investment in safety by training your employees in injury prevention and ergonomics. Our job conditioning programs include classes, job specific strengthening/stretching programs, proper care for minor discomforts and job coaching. Our approach includes cardiovascular, flexibility, core stabilization and endurance strengthening. We also offer body mechanic coaching for safe job performance. We tailor our classes and coaching programs to fit your facility and workforce.
After the program, all participants are followed by our Specialist for a minimum of 30 days. During this time, good body mechanics will be reinforced, including continued stretching injury prevention tip reinforcement.
Stretch-n-Flex Program
Performance of a physically challenging job requires:
- Muscular flexibility and endurance
- Strength for stabilization and dynamic motion
- Excellent balance/proprioception
At the onset of any new program, AWS creates a "Stretch-n-Flex” program for all job areas that are specific to the required movements/tasks. After an initial group introduction to the area program, individualized instruction is available when needed. All stretching programs are encouraged to be performed not only at shift start-up, but throughout the work day.
Job conditioning goes beyond the Stretch-n-Flex process and includes job-specific strengthening, stabilization and safe-work method coaching on body mechanics. This type of program can be created for individuals, new hire groups prior to job assignment, department preparation prior to scheduled PM or individually for safe return to work.
