Electronic Health Information (EHI) refers to electronic protected health information (ePHI) that is part of a designated record set, as defined under HIPAA. A designated record set includes:
The term “record” refers to any item or collection of information that includes protected health data. EHI excludes:
In essence, EHI encompasses the same ePHI that individuals have the right to access under the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Exporting EHI
Single-Patient Export
This single-patient export process will be done by an ATI Staff member without the assistance of a developer. The data returned will be in form of machine-readable PDFs.

Patient Population Export
As ATI is the sole client of ATI’s EHR, patient population requests are limited to ATI personnel. When requested this export would be performed by ATI’s IT administrators.
