Jace
Papillion, NE
Age 3
Arthrogryposis, Tethered Spinal Cord
Meet Jace - a happy-go-lucky three-year-old with multiple impairments that cause daily challenges. However, this “super hero” is not deterred, and continues to fight.
Arthrogryposis makes it difficult for Jace to move many of his joints, as they are contracted (limited in motion). He also wears braces that help with his walking and his overall positioning. Over his three years, he has undergone five surgeries to help release tightness in his foot musculature and improve alignment in order to increase his independence in walking. As Jace continues to grow, the musculature changes, often require another surgery.
Due to financial burdens, Jace is unable to receive occupational and physical therapies. These therapies are very important for developing Jace’s arm strength, range of motion, and fine motor skills in order to improve his overall independence.
The ATI Foundation will provide financial assistance toward his therapies for a year. These specialized therapies are provided by other professionals not associated with ATI Physical Therapy.
