Kalob
Soddy Daisy, TN
Kalob has been chosen as the 2015 Holiday Kids Campaign beneficiary for the Tennessee/Georgia region. He and his older sister were fostered by their parents when Kalob was six years old. At the time, he was in a broken, cockroach infested wheelchair with missing parts. He was underweight, and his lack of medical care for his Cerebral Palsy had rendered his legs and right arm useless.
The family has since adopted Kalob and his sister, and the last three years of physical therapy and medical care has made significant differences in his progression. While he is not expected to ever walk or be independent, he has grown to be 55 pounds and four feet tall at eight years old. He is scheduled for a surgery to implant a pump in his abdomen to administer medication directly to his spinal column. Kalob needs to be transported to school, physical therapy and doctor appointments every day, and his mother has a difficult time lifting him into the car. We will be assisting them in reaching their goal for a down payment of $5,000 on a wheelchair accessible van.
