Lexi
Roachdale, IN
Lexi was born with a congenital heart defect. In early 2015, her heart was completely failing, and she received a heart transplant in March, 2015.
After the transplant, her immune system had to remain as strong and healthy as possible in order for the donor heart to be accepted by her body, so removing all toxins from her environment was imperative. This first year following the transplant is crucial, as her body will continue to fight the new heart; Lexi needed an air purifier as well as a water filtration system for the well water in their home. The ATI Foundation granted the family $2,000 for these home improvements, to ensure the best chance of a long and prosperous life.
