Lola

Lola was born at 26 weeks. She weighed 1 lb., 7 oz. and was 13 inches long. Complications at birth caused a bilateral brain bleed, which led to clotting and Hydrocephalus. Lola is the 2015 Holiday Kids Campaign beneficiary, and we will be providing assistance toward the purchase of a motorized wheelchair.

At three months old, she was sent home from the hospital and placed in hospice with oxygen and a feeding tube, and the family was told there was nothing else they could do for her. Three surgeries later, Lola is working on strengthening head control, gaining weight, and learning to sit, stand and walk. Lola turns three years old this month and will be attending school in January. The estimated cost out of pocket for the family to purchase her motorized wheelchair is $12,000.
