Onna-Mae
Mentor, OH
Age 4
Severe GERD, Trachea Malacia, Sensory Challenges
At four months old, Onna-Mae was diagnosed with severe reflux and esophagitis; her list of complications grew from there. Her most recent tests have shown that her reflux issues have worsened. She currently has eight cavities, extreme pain during sleep, vomiting and several episodes of choking and gagging.
She is under the care of seven medical specialists at Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital in Cleveland. Her medical team has suggested the use of a specialized bed that will allow her to sleep upright during the night.
This specialized bed is not covered by insurance, and is currently beyond the family’s financial means as a majority of their income goes to out-of-pocket expenses for her various medications.
The ATI Foundation will provide financial assistance toward the purchase of a specialized “Comfy Lift Bed.” The estimated cost is $2,100.
