Brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, ATI adapted to meet the needs of our patients around the country. CONNECT™—our online physical therapy service (also called virtual or telehealth physical therapy)—offers virtual visits to patients, guided by our licensed occupational and physical therapists.
With CONNECT, telehealth physical therapy is easy and secure. You’ll have the same interaction with a licensed PT remotely that you would in one of our clinics. Each session is personalized to your treatment needs and you’ll receive dedicated one-to-one guidance from the therapist.
Telehealth offers opportunities for our patients to find accessible, convenient care. At ATI, we are proud to offer excellent patient outcomes for our telehealth platform and in-person clinics. In fact, we were recently named Verywellfit’s “Best Online and In-Personal” physical therapy program for 2022.
Whether or not you ever step into a clinic, it is the perfect way to continue progressing toward your recovery goals and get back to feeling like yourself. Here are five of the top reasons why you should consider telehealth physical therapy.

In-Home Options Make PT More Accessible
Home-based treatment ensures that you can continue your physical therapy program without interruption. Your virtual sessions take place in the comfort of your home via a web-enabled device like your desktop or laptop computer, tablet or mobile phone.
With CONNECT, we made telehealth physical therapy as easy and accessible as possible. Our app CONNECT makes implementing your care plan and tracking your progress simple. For those who do not want to download an app, our program is also web-based. We want you to have a seamless and enjoyable treatment experience with virtual physical therapy.
Convenient Therapy Sessions and Easy Setup
With the responsibilities of life, sometimes it’s hard to fit in all your recommended physical therapy visits. Rather than reducing your physical therapy sessions and lengthening your recovery time, consider supplementing in-clinic sessions with virtual, in-home therapy.
Getting started with telehealth therapy via the CONNECT platform affords additional convenience because the setup is simple. All you need is:
- Patients can either use the recommended app or use our service on the web
- Reliable internet connection
- Comfortable clothing to allow for movement
- Any exercise equipment prescribed by your therapist
Personalized Health Care from a Licensed Professional
Our telehealth service provides you with one-to-one personalized physical therapy treatment sessions guided by a licensed ATI therapist experienced in caring for people with your condition. You can expect your first session to last about 60 minutes. In this session, your therapist will discuss your expected treatment plan and duration.
You will also receive an individualized home exercise program to complete on your own time, so you can continue making progress toward your recovery goals. Your home exercise program will be available and accessible within the CONNECT platform. Our telehealth service reinforces our commitment to improving patient outcomes and limiting unnecessary medical treatments.
Safe, Secure & HIPAA-Compliant Live Video Sessions
CONNECT isn’t simply a video chat platform. Our software offers features that foster and enhance a comprehensive physical or occupational therapy treatment program. Our program offers many features such as camera tracking for home exercises, which makes for a more engaging experience with real-time artificial intelligence feedback. On top of that, all exchanges with your therapist are secure, as our video sessions are HIPAA-compliant.
Your treatment is provided only by licensed ATI therapists, so you’ll receive the same high level of care you’ve come to expect from us. Our therapists are highly trained and ready to safely guide you through your first telehealth appointment.
Telehealth Insurance Coverage is Rapidly Expanding
You may be wondering if your insurance covers physical and occupational therapy telehealth. Insurance coverage for telehealth services is changing and expanding by the week. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re seeing rapid movement in new laws and regulations. We expect most patients will be reimbursed for telehealth physical therapy.
The Center for Connected Health is working tirelessly in this arena, and they continue to provide the latest information and updates. Our therapists will work with you to review your insurance coverage and provide you with the information you need to make the best decision for your care. Our goal is to make CONNECT’s telehealth service available and affordable for all our patients.
