This past Saturday, the ATI Foundation hosted its 11th Annual Cruisin-4-Kids Motorcycle Ride and Celebration! The day began at Skooter's Roadhouse in Shorewood, IL and bikers were greeted with the beautiful voice of ATI’s own Sandee Teresi singing country music favorites. The motorcycle engines then got revved up, and riders enjoyed a scenic cruise with stops at American Legion (Morris), Shakers Lounge (Ottawa) and The Last Resort (Sheridan), before wrapping up the ride with a post-ride celebration back at Skooter's Roadhouse.
Over 150 bikers and guests participated in the day’s events, raising over $7,000 for the ATI Foundation, supporting local kids with physical impairments.
“We can’t thank the bikers, ATI patients, celebration guests and volunteers enough for their support of our annual Cruisin-4-Kids,” said Terry Williams, Director of the ATI Foundation. “They opened their hearts and donated their time and funds so that these kids have the opportunity to enhance their lives.”
The highlight of the day was a special presentation to eight-year-old Ben Divin of Yorkville, IL. Ben, who suffers from one of the most severe forms of muscular dystrophycalled Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, was presented with a check for $3,000. The money will help his family purchase a stair lift for their home so they
can safely get Ben up and down the stairs.
Also honored at Cruisin-4-Kids was nineyear-old Maddie Haubert. The ATI Foundation, in partnership with Preston’s March for Energy, will be presenting her with an adaptive bicycle in the coming weeks.
