Residents of the Bridgeview community now have convenient access to physical therapy, sports medicine and workers’ compensation services from ATI Physical Therapy, the industry leader in rehabilitation services. ATI Bridgeview, located 8811 S. Harlem Avenue, is one of four new Illinois ATI locations slated to open this month. Other locations include Machesney Park in northwest Illinois, and Jefferson Park and Portage Park in Chicago.
Abby Smith has been named Clinic Director at the new Bridgeview facility. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Science from Loras College, followed by her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2003. Abby is highly skilled in evaluating, treating and utilizing manual therapy for a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, with special interests in sport specific injuries, particularly running and sacroiliac joint dysfunction. Additionally, Abby holds a certification in performing ASTYM, a manual technique using tools to stimulate a healing response with chronic tendonitis and scarring. In her spare time, Abby stays active by participating volleyball, running and high intensity workouts. She looks forward to returning her patients back to an active lifestyle, doing the things they love.
“We are thrilled to be part of the Bridgeview community, bringing our tradition of patient-centered care, leading-edge techniques and an inspiring passion for healing bodies,” said Mark Schodrof, Senior Vice President of Operations at ATI. “If you’re experiencing any aches and pains, please stop by, schedule a complimentary screening with Abby and experience the ATI difference.”
First appointments with all ATI clinics are scheduled within 24-48 hours, and early morning and evening hours are available to accommodate patient schedules. Rehabilitation services include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, sports-specific training, and therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
ATI accepts virtually all major insurance carriers, verifies patient benefits prior to the start of treatment and offers individualized payment plans. Unique to the industry, ATI’s dedicated in-house research department aims to improve patient outcomes through basic science, research and evidence-based medicine. This includes the ATI Patient Outcomes Registry, a collection of data that supports an innovative approach to physical therapy that improves awareness of patient outcomes and how the rehabilitative process can impact patients’ quality of life.
ATI has received many local, regional and national accolades for its commitment to quality care. The company was named “Best Physical Therapy Company in the Nation” by ADVANCE Rehab Magazine, and has achieved URAC core accreditation recognizing its commitment to quality healthcare. As a way to give back to the communities in which its patients and employees live, work and serve, ATI established the ATI Foundation in 2007. The ATI Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides resources and funding to children with physical impairments.
