ATI Physical Therapy is pleased to offer residents of Delaware County access to physical therapy and sports medicine services from the nation’s leading provider with the opening of its newest location. ATI Newtown Square, located at 20 N. Newtown Street Road, opened on February 16 and marks ATI’s 27th clinic in Pennsylvania. As the Official Sports Medicine Provider for Marple Newtown High School, Paxon Hollow Middle School, Archbishop John Carroll High School and Academy of Notre Dame, the clinic will help support the needs of their athletes.
Phil Beninato, M.Ed., PT., ATC, has been named clinic director at the new location. Phil earned both his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and Master of Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Temple University. Additionally, he is Active Release Technique® (ART®) Total Body Certified, McKenzie trained in the cervical and lumbar spines, and trained in vestibular rehabilitation, helping patients overcome symptoms related to concussion, vertigo, dizziness and imbalance. Over the past twenty years, Phil has worked in outpatient orthopedics, treating patients with general orthopedic and sports related injuries, and enjoys working with post-surgical and non-surgical disorders of the knee, shoulder, and spine. He has volunteered as a member of the medical staff at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, is a member of the United States Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Society and has traveled as a member of the sports medicine staff with the USA National field hockey, swimming and diving teams. In addition to his duties at the Newtown Square clinic, Phil is a part-time faculty member at Harcum College in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Located on Route 252, one block down from the Newtown Square Fire House, ATI provides a physical therapy treatment plan unique for each patient, designed to reduce pain, improve mobility and prevent future injuries. Rehabilitation services include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, sports-specific training, and therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
“We are excited to become part of the Newtown community, offering residents the highest level of personalized care, an energizing atmosphere and exceptional outcomes,” said Robert McDonnell, Regional Director for ATI Physical Therapy. “Phil is rolling out the red carpet for his patients and encourages anyone with aches or pains to call and schedule a complimentary screening.”
ATI offers expanded hours and complimentary screenings, plus accepts virtually all major insurance carriers. Unique to the industry, ATI’s dedicated in-house research department aims to improve patient outcomes through basic science, research and evidence-based medicine. This includes the ATI Patient Outcomes Registry, a collection of data that supports an innovative approach to physical therapy that improves awareness of patient outcomes and how the rehabilitative process can impact patients’ quality of life.
ATI has received many local, regional and national accolades for its commitment to quality care. The company was named “Best Physical Therapy Company in the Nation” by ADVANCE Rehab Magazine, and has achieved URAC core accreditation recognizing its commitment to quality healthcare. As a way to give back to the communities in which its patients and employees live, work and serve, ATI established the ATI Foundation in 2007. The ATI Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides resources and funding to children with physical impairments.
