Baltimore residents now have additional access to services from ATI Physical Therapy, the industry’s leader in physical therapy, sports medicine and workers’ compensation services. ATI Overlea, located at 7624 Belair Road in the Belair Beltway Shopping Center, marks ATI’s 37th Maryland clinic, and is complimented by other convenient locations in Baltimore County such as the Carney and Rosedale Clinics.
“At ATI, our goal is to exceed patients’ expectations, each and every day,” said Tony Pomponi, Senior Regional Director at ATI. “We are excited to reinforce that commitment to this great community with the addition of our Overlea Clinic and we’re eager to make a real difference in the lives of those requiring physical therapy.”
Welcoming patients at the new location is Jessica M. Mertz, PT, DPT. Jessica M. Mertz graduated in 2014 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Neumann University. She started working as a rehab tech in 2010 with ATI and chose to continue her professional career with the company. She has a strong interest in perfecting her manual therapy skills and is currently training to complete her Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Certification (COMT) with the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments (IAMT). She has also taken classes with the Institute of Physical Art with goals to enhance her Functional Manual Therapy skills. Jessica would like to continue to focus her studies on movement and the bridge to performance by taking courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS). She is looking for opportunities to teach, give back to the community, and mentor PT/PTA students. Jessica’s primary experience since entering the field has been in treating low back and neck pain, joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, adolescents, gait/balance training, chronic pain, and sports injuries, as well as workers compensation patients.
First appointments with all ATI clinics are scheduled within 24-48 hours, and early morning and evening hours are available to accommodate patient schedules. Rehabilitation services include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, sports-specific training, and therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
ATI accepts virtually all major insurance carriers, verifies patient benefits prior to the start of treatment and offers individualized payment plans. Unique to the industry, ATI’s dedicated in-house research department aims to improve patient outcomes through basic science, research and evidence-based medicine. This includes the ATI Patient Outcomes Registry, a collection of data that supports an innovative approach to physical therapy that improves awareness of patient outcomes and how the rehabilitative process can impact patients’ quality of life.
ATI has received many local, regional and national accolades for its commitment to quality care. The company was named “Best Physical Therapy Company in the Nation” by ADVANCE Rehab Magazine, and has achieved URAC core accreditation recognizing its commitment to quality healthcare. As a way to give back to the communities in which its patients and employees live, work and serve, ATI established the ATI Foundation in 2007. The ATI Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides resources and funding to children with physical impairments.
