ATI Physical Therapy is pleased to announce the relocation and expansion of its Bear East clinic, providing patients with more spacious treatment areas, state-of-the-art equipment and a highly energetic environment. ATI will continue to treat patients at its current 609 Governors Place location through Friday, January 30. The new clinic will be located at 1011 East Songsmith Drive in Bear, and will open its doors for patients at 7 a.m. on Monday, February 2.
Kathleen Iffland, PT, DPT, will continue to lead the team as clinic director at the new location. A Delaware native, she has been practicing as a physical therapist for 27 years, and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012 from Evidence in Motion, and her Physical Therapy degree in 1988 from the University of Delaware. Additionally, Kathleen is McKenzie Certified and has a certification in Private Practice Management. Her experience includes treatment in all areas of physical therapy, including orthopedic rehabilitation, home health care, pediatrics, workers compensation and acute care. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, photography, visiting the beaches of Delaware, and staying active with CrossFit, yoga, swimming and snow skiing.
The new Bear East clinic is located at the intersection of Routes 7 and 40, next to Express Care and the new Lowe’s Home Improvement Center. The ATI team is ready to provide a physical therapy treatment plan unique for each patient, designed to reduce pain, improve mobility and prevent future injuries. For those patients in need of vestibular therapy, the clinic features Susan Cicala, PT, DPT, who is certified in vestibular rehabilitation and balance training.
As the Official Sports Medicine Provider for Christiana High School, Newark Charter School, Red Lion Christian Academy, Glasgow High School and Newark High School, ATI’s new location will also support student athletes in need of physical therapy services.
“Our relocation is an exciting move for ATI. It offers our patients and the Bear community an exceptional environment for their treatment,” said John Lemen, Regional Director for ATI Physical Therapy. “It is conveniently located in a new building, with a larger space, more ample parking and is next to a walk-in medical clinic. We are looking forward to offering our patients the highest level of care and extraordinary results in this new, modern and energetic clinic.”
ATI offers complimentary injury screenings and expanded hours, plus accepts virtually all major insurance carriers. Unique to the industry, ATI’s dedicated in-house research department aims to improve patient outcomes through basic science, research and evidence-based medicine. This includes the ATI Patient Outcomes Registry, a collection of data that supports an innovative approach to physical therapy that improves awareness of patient outcomes and how the rehabilitative process can impact patients’ quality of life.
ATI has received many local, regional and national accolades for its commitment to quality care. The company was named “Best Physical Therapy Company in the Nation” by ADVANCE Rehab Magazine, and has achieved URAC core accreditation recognizing its commitment to quality healthcare. As a way to give back to the communities in which its patients and employees live, work and serve, ATI established the ATI Foundation in 2007. The ATI Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides resources and funding to children with physical impairments.
